John Robert Ellis

John Robert Ellis, is admitted to the Louisiana State Bar and has been practicing law since 2012. Mr. Ellis offers a unique and broad range of expertise, providing guidance in commercial transactions, commercial and succession litigation, and strategic formation and ownership of business entities and real estate. 

Mr. Ellis obtained his Bachelor of Science in Finance with a minor in Economics in 2003, followed by his Master in Business Administration in 2005, both from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  He next received his J.D. from Appalachian School of Law in 2009, serving on the Law Journal and earning the Dean’s List every semester.  Mr. Ellis then earned his LL.M. – Master of Laws from Tulane University Law School in 2010.  From 2010-2016, Mr. Ellis also served as Chief Editor of several legal textbooks written by Max Nathan, Jr., Professor of Law. Mr. Ellis has served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Metro Centers for Community Advocacy since January of 2016. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the New Orleans Bar Association.

In 2021, Mr. Ellis was named to Top Attorneys of North America and was also recognized as a Distinguished Attorney by Continental Who’s Who for his legal excellence. In 2023, he was named to Top Lawyers by Marquis Who’s Who and in 2024 was nominated to the legal fraternity of Lawyers of Distinction.
